UI/UX Design - Mobile Banking

Overview
As a UI/UX designer at the Veripark, I was tasked with redesigning Mobile Bank's entire online platform. The task involved changing the entire look of the bank by making it more intuitive and giving it a modern feel.
This was in line with the team’s desire to compete with other digital banks. Veripark mobile banking app wants to be the bank of the free, a bank that appeals to young people. In fulfilling this desire, I had to redesign their entire web presence and bring it up to par with those of competitors.
In my user experience design journey, I've cultivated a systematic and strategic approach that revolves around innovation, user-centric design, and effective problem-solving. I believe in meticulous planning and execution, with a focus on creating visually captivating and highly functional websites.
Research
During my market analysis, I observed other players in the fintech industry to understand the trends of the industry and what a fintech platform should look like.
I also conducted research by interviewing users from the previous platform about their experiences with the former version of Veripark mobile bank app. I interviewed some members of the staff at The Veripark (we all use mobile bank app) and based on the findings I was able to create a user persona.
My vision is to set new standards in web design by embracing cutting-edge technologies and design trends. I am committed to pushing the boundaries of creativity to ensure that each project I undertake reflects the latest industry innovations.
User Persona

The most recurring pain points that I noticed during the interview phase were:
users found it difficult to navigate through the previous app;
users found the onboarding process difficult,
users did not like the feel and flow of the previous app;
users did not have a complete digital experience;
users complained that the app was not intuitive.
I was able to deduce from the conclusions of my research that the previous app was too complex for users. I realised that I also had to make the process of migrating from the previous app to the new one seamless.
Armed with my findings and the color guide that Veripark Mobile banking app wanted me to use, I designed different wireframes for Mobile banking app.
User Centric Design
The cornerstone of my approach is my unwavering commitment to understanding the needs of my users. I prioritize user-centric design, making certain that my websites provide a seamless, intuitive, and memorable experience from the moment visitors land on my site.

Registration and Onboarding
Solving the user’s pain point about the onboarding process was one of the most pressing issues. Designing the onboarding process to be simpler and more visually appealing was the most important thing I had to do. This was the user’s first interaction with Stellas and it had to be as user-friendly as possible.
Sign Up/ Registration
The registration process for new users requires a lot of personal information. Stellas required their phone number, email address, bank verification number, and a password.

Transfer
Solving the transfer problem that users had with the previous version of the app, I designed the transfer experience to be easy and instinctive.
To make the process of sending money easy, on the transfer page I included some preset amounts for users to easily pick from. Users can either select from the preset amount or edit the amount by tapping it twice and inputting the amount they want to send.
Users can now instinctively send money to any account by easily selecting or editing the amount to send and input the desired recipient.
Transactions
In a bid to rectify users’ pain points from the previous version, the users can now view all their transactions and can select transactions from any timeframe.
The transactions page shows a graphical summary of transactions for any period, allowing users to scroll through to see their account’s activity. Users can also share the details page which contains all necessary information.

Conclusion
Being solely responsible for the design process of such a wonderful product was one of the most challenging things I have ever had to do, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable process for me through which I was able to deploy my creative prowess.
I learned a lot in such a short period, and this project helped me grow as a designer. I also want to use this medium to acknowledge the efforts of the amazing team that I worked with to bring my design to life.
